Click below to hear from local businesses and regional partners on what makes Mid Sussex a great place to live, work and invest.
We knew building a commercial development in Mid Sussex was a smart business move due to the huge demand for employment space in Sussex and a lack of supply. The area has excellent transport links, with close proximity to London Gatwick, London and Brighton and a highly skilled workforce living nearby. Mid Sussex is also an attractive place to live, with beautiful countryside and the South Downs to enjoy. When we built Sussex Junction in Bolney, which included three units totalling 106,000 sq. ft, the estate was 60 per cent pre let before we even started building. This is a testament to its enviable location, equidistant between Brighton and London Gatwick and its direct access to the M23 and A23.Another successful development for us was Midpoint 23, an 86,000 sq. ft. prime industrial estate at Pease Pottage on the Junction 11 of the M23. We transformed this 5.8 acre site into seven high specification B1,B2 and B8 units, which were sold to Blackstone. We think there is huge potential for Mid Sussex to grow its commercial space in the future, boosting the area’s economy and attracting both regional and national businesses which are looking for space to grow and a high quality of life for their employees. Mid Sussex District Council and its investment arm Opportunity Mid Sussex have been fantastic to work with, operating quickly and effectively and supporting us to make this development a reality.
Wakehurst is a unique and special place in the heart of Mid Sussex, where no two visits are the same, and visitors can come away having explored a new corner of the landscape, experienced ground-breaking science and made long-lasting memories. Our ancient and beautiful landscapes span 535 acres and are a place for escape, exploration, tranquillity and wonder. To visit Wakehurst is to walk the world, from towering North American redwoods, a swathing American Prairie, and impressive Wollemi Pines from Australia. As a site of global scientific research, the Millennium Seed Bank sits at the heart, the most biodiverse place on earth.
